evo killed all my garden spiders with a huge shovel, it was great. they are evil and walk round in squares all day (when they arent trying to kill humans).

ah, perhaps it had escaped the shovel and found tis way to basford then!

i tried tipping a bucket of water over them, but they hid in the clothes pegs.

i have spider proof clothes pegs :)

ok, and no one in their right minds would go to basford anyway... spiders included.

They're obviously square-dancing fans, with tiny spider cowboy hats and spurs, so I fully endorse the shovel option in their case.

ah, i agree, in this case death is the only option.
